What you need to know about Energy Labelling
Recent changes to Energy Labels and ENERGY STAR have caused some confusion in the marketplace with different star ratings and labels appearing on identical products. Mitsubishi Electric has published the following documents explaining these changes and what these labels mean for you when purchasing an appliance. If you have further questions you can either contact our Customer Support Team on 0800 QUIET AIRCON or EECA (The Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority – www.eeca.govt.nz).

Energy Labelling

Energy Labelling provides information on a product’s energy performance at the point of sale, allowing you to make more informed purchasing decisions.

The number of stars on the label to the right shows how energy efficient a product is. The more stars a product has the more energy efficient it is. Unfortunately the proposed 2010 Energy Labelling changes have been delayed which means you may see different labels displayed on the same products! To find out how this affects your purchasing decision please read Important Changes to Energy Labelling (99KB)

Changes to ENERGY STAR™ Program

The ENERGY STAR™ is the global mark of energy efficiency. It’s aim is to identify the top 25% of products based on their energy efficiency. Recently many products have achieved this mark and to reduce this back to only the most energy efficient products, the ENERGY STAR requirements have been raised.

Mitsubishi Electric has a large range of products that achieve the new ENERGY STAR Mark. To view these products and to learn more about the new requirements to achieve this mark please read Changes to the ENERGY STAR Mark (93KB)
